HOLLIS MACHALA

My own story as an artist began with a single question: What does “home” mean to me?

For me, the answer was found in the puddingstone rocks of Massachusetts—geological storytellers formed from fragments pressed together over time. They mirrored exactly what I felt inside: that our identities are layered, gathered, and made meaningful by the places and people who shape us. This idea became the foundation of my Heart of MA Collection, and it continues to guide everything I create.

I make art to connect—to myself, to my history, and to the stories of others.
